   In my case various members of my large family around the country (US) use   
    various modes (RCS/MMS/SMS). I'd probably miss out if Google Messages   
    didn't automatically handle it all for me. And with my provider it's   
    unlimited, no extra charges so I just sit back and enjoy the chatter...
