   A "straightforward" text-editor which needs internet access ?   I don't   
   think so.   
      
   Also, it wants to play file-manager too (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) ?  Say it   
   aint so.   
      
   iow, your "most straightforward choice" seems to be based on some   
   advertising do-da, not on inspecting the product itself (duh! otherwise you   
   would have known if it could load & save from "somewhere else")
