I hate to be a party poop, but there have been cases of part of the
installation process being slower than necessary. The code that
updates the manual pages, it had some weird behavior when run in
a virtual machine, that did not match the behavior in a physical
install of Linux. Somebody had a bad case of paranoia, when they
started sensing what Ring their code was running in. Presumably, there
was some concern based on an exploit being done while manual pages
   were being processed.

But such delays are not even remotely close to the Windows dependency
   calculations.

You will also find Linux distros that have a "spring in their step",
and aren't quite as lethargic as some of their buttery colleagues.
But nobody in the Linux world cares about this. While I have
a test I can run, to highlight this, my "court case" is not
strong enough for me to go on a "name and shame" campaign.
If anyone is concerned about this, they aren't saying much.
