   Remember how bad Windows 1, 2, and even 3 were? The Atari ST and   
   Mac were much better.   
      
   Absent Bill Gates' predatory tactics and its reliance of DOS   
   technology, I can't imagine Windows would have EVER been adopted   
   by more than 0.1% of users.  :-)   
      
   I got started with Red Hat Linux 6, circa 2000. Sure, it was not   
   as refined as now, but to me it was a breath of fresh air compared   
   to Windows.
