   I had freezes in Ubuntu, but I don't recall experiencing them in Mint. Of   
   course, since Mint is based on Ubuntu, it's a possibility.   
      
   If the date on that post weren't from August, I'd suggest that it might be   
   related to an old kernel in which fTPM issues aren't yet bypassed. Since   
   it's recent, it's quite possible that he's facing a memory issue.
