   Is there a splinter cell of influencers trying to undermine MAGA from   
   within? Dr. James Lindsay speaks out   
      
   Dr. James Lindsay suggests well-known conservative figures like Tucker   
   Carlson and Candace Owens could be part of a broader movement to subvert   
   the Trump administration.   
      
      
   On Monday's episode of The Ezra Levant Show, Dr. James Lindsay discussed   
   why he believes a group of well-funded, right-wing influencers are trying   
   to undermine President Trump's 'MAGA' movement from within.   
      
   "I perceive that there is a radical splinter movement that has been   
   embedded within MAGA, probably all along actually. We used to call it the   
   alt-right, then there was the so-called 'very fine people' hoax around the   
   Charlottesville event in August of 2017," he said.   
      
   "And they went underground, but they didn't go away. What they did was they   
   put on happy faces and they joined the movement and became more and more   
   prominent within a broad pro-American, MAGA thing that grew, and it rapidly   
   strengthened under the Biden years," Lindsay continued.   
      
   "And then I feel like last summer they started to emerge from their cocoon   
   to try to run a radical splinter movement. And I think Tucker Carlson and   
   Candace Owens, and most of these other ... sometimes Trump calls them   
   'panicans', are all part of this," he added.   
      
   Lindsay pointed to how Carlson and Owens at first were critical of   
   potential U.S. strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities, but then later   
   appeared to back the president's decision to destroy the sites, even   
   attempting to take credit.   
      
   "I think this is all a game, I have an extraordinarily cynical   
   interpretation of this. I think it's a deliberate strategy to undermine   
   MAGA from within," he said.   
      
   Lindsay explained that he doesn't necessarily know who is ultimately behind   
   the movement, whether it be foreign adversaries or the World Economic Forum   
   elites, but he views it as an attempt to subvert MAGA from within because   
   they couldn't succeed crushing it from the outside.
