   I remember one of the magazines from the '60s, probably Mechanix   
   Illustrated, had an article on grinding you own mirror. Like most of their   
   projects I doubt more than 0.1% of the readers even tried it but Walter   
   Mitty fantasies are always fun.   
      
   Then there were the people who built the 25' cabin cruiser in the   
   basement. I'll admit to building a 8' sailing dinghy in a second floor   
   apartment but I did have a plan for getting it down to the street.
