   Neither will tell you anything about the contents of the plaintext,   
   which is what the OTP is supposed to be protecting (and the same applies   
   to more realistic ciphers). If even your message lengths and timings are   
   secret then you need something more. Most use cases don’t.   
      
   In modern thinking a one-time pad _in isolation_ would be considered   
   inadequate, due to its malleability. You need a MAC as well.
