   I’ve never found a use for the rsyncd protocol, and I don’t think   
   anyone would recommend its use for anything serious any more. Just   
   look at the description :   
   it uses a laughably weak authentication handshake, and the data   
   transfer isn’t even encrypted.   
      
   SSH is the way to go.
