   Nope, in the US it is 'aluminum'.

   I agree sticking with the 'ium' of other elements would make sense but   
   after close to 200 years, aluminum it is.   
      
   I have heard US speakers, particularly chemists, say aluminium. That's   
   rather like my brother, who was an aeronautical engineer, always said   
   'aeroplane'.
