Once or twice I have set up file drops for clients for use by their clients.
They give the latter a username and password they can use to access a
limited area for uploading and downloading files.

I set up scponly as their shell, so they have to do all accesses via an
SFTP-compatible client. For Windows it seems WinSCP works well. An earlier
client was using FileZilla, but they reported that transfers via that were
   very slow.
