       Sure. "freetardry" is a great way to avoid the legal problems of commercial   
   software licensing. THAT is rather the ENTIRE POINT of the Ernie Ball story.   
      
       If you find that a particular course of action makes it more difficult for   
   you personally to be in compliance with the law then you should certainly as   
   a law abiding sort of person seek to avoid that thing.
