   Probably true.
Today's youth sees Microsoft as a dinosaur and these are the people
that will be running things in the future, or are running things
   now.

   Apple is kool to them.

In some cases Linux, or at least the concept of sharing, free
software, open communication and so forth is also kool.

Microsoft needs another "Office" or innovative product.

Their Win phone is actually pretty decent.
Whether it survives and considering Microsoft's track record with
   things like this, remains questionable.

I'm due for a new phone and my kids are telling me either wait for
Verizon iPhone or get an HTC Android 2.2.
