Absolutely. Apple pushes themselves to innovate and to be customer focused
more than just about any other company - at least tech company. This is why
they have the highest customer satisfaction ratings for desktop computers,
smart phones, MP3 players, etc. What other company keeps themselves on top
in so many different categories? Steve Jobs has earned his reputation as
the most innovative CEO. Heck, he did much the same for Pixar - he lead
that company to be a top-tier company of the movie industry.

But, still, competition is good and I am happy to see Google enter the smart
phone market. Apple has been slow to include provider options... at first
this made sense, they needed a company that would serve their needs on the
back end, but I think the time has long since passed where others would be
willing to (as shown by the support outside of the US). There is something
to be said for rewarding the cell phone company that first worked with them,
but I think even that time has passed. Apple will likely open up the iPhone
to other providers, and part of this is because of Google and Android.
