   Interesting to read, among these tips for getting Windows to perform better   
   off an SSD

   is the recommendation that, after switching from legacy ATA emulation to   
   native AHCI, you need to reinstall Windows, otherwise it will fail to boot.   
      
   Honestly, what kind of hardware detection does Windows do? Linux is smart   
   enough to activate the right drivers based on the hardware it finds itself   
   running on, it’s not forever bound back to choices made at installation   
   time. Why is Windows so primitive?
