   Windows certainly is "not banned" in all aspects of science. There's a lot   
   more to science than controlling a "nuclear power plant."   
      
   Linux isn't used to control a nuclear power plant either. Highly specialized   
   software and the underlying OS that controls a nuclear power plant or a   
   flight control system is NOT using an off-the-shelf general purpose OS.
