   I also know that such companies are far and few between.   
      
   They are the exception, not the rule.   
      
   And just how big exactly is Redhat - not very.  Despite all the hoopla about   
   how it's this wonderful success story (which it is) Redhat is significantly   
   smaller than a niche-product company like AutoDesk (AutoCad) and a fraction   
   the size of Intuit (Turbo Tax).  When compared to something like Oracle they   
   are barely 5% the size.
