   I just finished a marathon Gentoo update (which on Gentoo means   
   compiled) of some 60-ish packages, including LibreOffice 3.3.1_rc1. If   
   it wasn't for the CPU fan spinning at full revs, I wouldn't have even   
   known it was doing anything.
