   The first 3 ways listed in   
      
   of running Windows apps on Linux are basically different ways of   
   repackaging the Wine API emulator. And VirtualBox is just Windows in a   
   VM.   
      
   The last way, WinBoat (still in prerelease), sounded a bit mysterious   
   in how it worked: looks like it runs a Windows VM within a container.   
   Not sure why it’s done this way -- maybe to allow spinning up multiple   
   VMs within the container, without cluttering your Linux host userland   
   with extra cruft.
