   It is "reverse" scrolling. In older systems the scrolling was based on the   
   scroll bars, which made sense given how you could not easily / quickly scroll   
   the content (you could use page up and down, but that is not quite the same).   
      
   With touch screens people more often scrolled the content, not the scrollbars.   
   Scrollbars were deemphasized. Even on track pads it could be used for   
   scrollbar or content just as easily.   
      
   Us old times were used to scroll bars. Newer users were used to touch screens.   
   Opposite scrolling directions. The scrolling of content is more "natural" than   
   scrolling the scrollbars... or so the terminology suggests. LOL! But it does   
   sorta make sense... if you had a big physical scroll with a window to it   
   (sorta what a window of text is on a computer), you would likely just touch   
   the paper and scroll it up and down (of course having to be careful not to   
   damage it -- but that is not relevant to what direction you scroll on a   
   computer).
