   DirectX 7 Support For Linux

The Steam Deck and other Linux-based gaming platforms already do a
good job of running most current Windows games. But older games, such
as those requiring DirectX 7, have been left out -- until now. Along
   comes some enterprising hacker

who figures out how to emulate DirectX 7 calls by translating them to
DirectX 9, which is already supported on Linux.

It’s only a partial job so far. But imagine Linux being able to
support old Windows games (DirectX 7 came out in 1999) better than
current versions of Windows itself can manage!
