Arizona is uniform but NavajoLand does its own thing.

The best explanation I heard was years ago when Virginia didn't do DST. I
was having breakfast in a diner and noticed the clock was off. I asked the
waitress who said 'We keep God's time in Virginia'.

Long haul truckers keep their logbooks on the time of their home terminal.
DOT cops understand this but when Deputy Dawg makes believe he can read a
log you get questions like 'How come you logged that last stop at 6 PM and
   it ain't 6 PM yet?'

DST is fun too, explaining why you really did get 8 hours off even though
   the log only shows 7.
