   Worth noting that the last version of Microsoft Office came out in   
   2024. In that time, LibreOffice has gone from version 24.8 to 25.8   
   .   
      
   Wonder what Microsoft has been doing in the meantime? Of course it has   
   been pouring most of its development efforts into Microsoft 365, which   
   is the cloud version that also supports Linux.   
      
   So really, Microsoft is pivoting away from making its most important   
   piece of application software Windows-only.   
      
   That, too, is a hint as to the future of Microsoft Windows ...
