   Of course it’s a bloody stupid idea!   
      
   Unfortunately, that truth is a painful one to accept. The cost of all   
   the necessary security checks does impose a massive resource-usage   
   burden on a typical Dimdows PC. So users keep looking for excuses to   
   disable those checks: some piece software is “perfectly safe” (yeah,   
   right) to run with malware detection disabled, isn’t it?

   You don’t think the crims know about the exceptions you’re likely to   
   make?? Of course they’re going to zero in on your obvious weak points   
   like flies to rotting meat!
