   Yet another Windows-specific malware attack (yawn)   
   .   
   But what struck me was the advice given at the end to make this sort   
   of thing easier for users to spot: undo a “feature” that Microsoft   
   added to Windows something like two decades ago -- hiding file   
   extensions.   
      
   Has no-one at Microsoft had second thoughts about this in all that   
   time?
