The library guy had a       kernel panic after doing updates and trying to create VM. Not interesting       in itself but it dropped back to BusyBox. I didn't know that was still       around but from there you can run fsck without having to fire up a live       session from a thumb drive. However he just restored the whole thing with       RescueZilla. Handy to know.
