   If you have ideas on how to generate better code, it is easier to   
   implement them on top of an existing compiler framework like GCC or LLVM   
   than to invent a new compiler from scratch.   
      
   Think of these projects as attractors, sucking out the talent from   
   proprietary efforts. I see that as a Good Thing.
