   If it was a VSI-proprietary Linux, then that would defeat the point. The   
   whole point about moving to Linux is that it offers you a roadmap to the   
   future, free of vendor lock-in.

   Not sure why. If Microsoft can make do with relatively modest changes to   
   get a Linux kernel into WSL2 under Windows, a much simpler, older OS like   
   VMS would hardly be a bigger job.
