The content is still intact, if you do a binary transfer. The       problem is that VMS-based tools like the linker and librarian insist on       going through RMS to deal with files, and RMS insists on using file       attributes to govern the way it blocks and deblocks records. If those       attributes are lost, then it just gives up.              There’s no reason for Linux-based tools, say, to be so nitpicky and       stupid. The VMS .OBJ file format is perfectly readable without the       necessary record attributes. They are not conveying anything important.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
