   G and T are pretty similar. Not identical, but I would say you   
   really had to be on the edge of randomness to get a difference   
   between them.   
      
   D and G are significantly different in range and precision. But   
   D died with VAX. Alpha "supported" D by loading and storing D   
   but doing calculations in G.
