   Basically VS Code is free to use. It has like 40+ million users   
   worldwide and in SO surveys 70% of developers use it (not   
   necessarily exclusively).   
      
   I believe the licenses say that:   
   * if you use the MS Build then you can install it   
    on your own PC and on every PC in your company,   
    but you cannot install it on another company's PC   
   * if you use your own build then you can install it   
    on your own PC and on every PC in your company and   
    on another company's PC   
      
   That is not very limiting.
