   It will cause the kernel to make an ARP request.  If and when it   
   receives a response, it'll add an entry to its table.   
      
   That's the downside with this approach: you can send the packet, but   
   exactly how long it'll take for the ARP entry to appear is anyone's   
   guess.  And I don't think there's a particularly good way of being told   
   when they arrive.
