   aware.   
      
   By the by: I agree that installing and enabling back-doors on your   
   machine without obtaining extremely clear consent in advance is   
   unacceptable.  That you can even slightly plausibly claim not to have   
   known about it is fairly damning.  Tucking this sort of essential   
   security information away in a dark corner of Ts&Cs is somewhere between   
   useless and dishonest.
