   You need to provide references for this I think ...   
      
   But I think you are right; Linux doesn't just do what you would expect   
   (drop the datagram and claim it was sent anyway). At least not always   
   -- there may be a difference between bound and unbound UDP sockets, and   
   if PMTU is enabled or not. Unfortunately I have never seen it   
   documented; it's just hearsay and experiments on my part.
