   h_aliases will contain a non-null entry if the host used in
   e.g. gethostbyname() has a CNAME different from the hostname
   used in the query. E.g.

     struct hostent *h = gethostbyname ("www2.liii.com")
     h->h_aliases[0] becomes "willow.ggn.net".
