No, to the Japanese who then market it in the US. We just bought DECT
phones so I read up on that standard for a few minutes. Turns out a big
shot from Siemens had cajoled the FCC into relinquishing a 10MHz swath.
So Siemens could (theroretically) market their DECT phones here. Guess
what? When I shopped around the number of Siemens phones encountered was
zip, zero, zilch. Nearly all of them Panasonic (Japan) which we ended up
buying, some Uniden (Japan) and V-Tech (Hong-Kong).
