   Why "goodbye"?   
      
   It depends completely on how your server is designed: threaded,   
   forked, select-driven ...?   
      
   Note that it might not even be possible, if the TX queue to a client   
   is full or almost full.  The client is there, everything is fine, but   
   you cannot talk to it.
