   Despite the original technical meaning, in lay parlance "broadband"   
   means "high-speed Internet service".  These providers also often offer   
   other services (phone, TV) over the same wire, and that relates to the   
   original meaning, but I don't think it's considered a necessity for a   
   provider to be considered to be offering broadband service.
