   Well, socket isn't quite the right word.  A server can have open   
   multple connections on a port.  Even more, a connection is symmetric.   
   TCP doesn't keep track of server vs. client.  Open two web browser   
   windows and connect to the same server at the same time.   
      
   Also, note that two connections from differnet hosts can have   
   the same source port.  As each host keeps track of its own port   
   numbers, that is important.  Also, a server can have more than   
   one IP address, either multiple interfaces or multiple addresses   
   the same interface.
