|    swsvpkt and xp firewalls?    |

From: howardb21@gmail.com              Hi,              I helping a blind friend continue to use his dos text-based internet       tools (e.g., ssh2d386.exe) with windows and DSL. The swiss packet driver,       swsvpkt works well to convince dos programs it is a packet driver, while       it shuttles packets to the windows xp ethernet adapter.              It requires 2 things, however: turn off the windows tcp/ip protocol so it       can use its own, and do something about windows firewalls.              I've find that the xp firewall does not not object to swsvpkt, but my       software firewall (I still use kerio 2.15) somehow blocks internet dsl       traffic coming throught swsvpkt. I've told the firewall to accept cmd.exe       command.com, the virtual layer ntdvm.exe, the dos applications -- all to       no avail. I do not even get warning messages from kerio.              Any ideas how I get a decent software windows firewall to allow tcp/ip       traffic from a dos box, using swsvpkt?              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
