   Thanks Rick. I suspected I might have to "work around" this particular issue   
   in this emulation. I didn't really want to muck around with the aio stuff   
   anyway. When this condition occurs, I will just have to make the application   
   layer think it actually    
   did. It is just an emulation after all.
