Where does the DNS hit go in ToR browsin

It says that TOR browsing is completely secure, your ISP cannot know which
sites you're going to, but I'm curious, because I know nothing about TOR -
where does the DNS request go? If it goes to my ISP's DNS server, then
obviously they know which site I'
m going to, right? Or does the TOR network have it's own DNS server/s
   somewhere (in cyberspace)?

   Thanks.
