From: dog_cow@macgui.com              While the subject is still fresh, how many people here remember the early       days of the Asimov FTP site? It used to be quite notorious according to some       people.              The Asimov archive came online around 1995, more than 25 years ago.              By summer 1996, some Apple II users started calling it a pirate site:       https://macgui.com/usenet/?group=1&id=120267#msg              Quite a few discussions about this, also with Dr. Tom Turley and quantum_cat       (who I thought someone once said was an alias of Richard "marinetti"       Bennett). But 25 years later, Apple II piracy isn't what it used to be. :-/              --       ]DF$       The New Apple II User's Guide:       https://macgui.com/newa2guide/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
