   Linux dual boots quite happily on an intel Mac. I have it on a 2009 Mini, and   
   there Firefox is supported. Slow, but supported. On a 2012 mini ($100 used)   
   Linux is quite spritely. I use the Xfce version as supposedly it's easier on   
   the graphics.   
      
   It may come down to that option in the end.
