   No it doesn't. However there are after market simm boards that require   
   jumpers set. I have the Actionsoft and Chromagic Ram Gizmo cards. Both   
   require jumpers for 1/4/14 meg.   
      
   You may have just had a bit of oxidisation on tho socket or pins.   
   Installing the other card may have just removed some of the tarnish   
   enough for a better electrical contact.
