The only way you can do that is with a boot floppy       where the boot sector forces it the other way round.              >       > Have a question, When the Falcon Boots up, does it suppose       > to display a message showing the Falcon's ID number?              No.              >       > Or does this depend on what type of Driver Software       > that you are using?              A little yes.       >       > I know that normally you get a message displaying type of       > IDE/SCSI.              not on a stock Falcon. My CT2 does. But that's because of the firmware.              I'm guessing you may have stiction on the old drive. Its a condition       where it doesn't get out of bed quickly enough for the system to       recognise it, tho it improves if the drive has already spun up. There is       a floppy you could create with a boot delay that gives the drive a       second or two longer to boot allowing the system time to detect it. I       can't remember what it was called tho.              Mark              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
