|    Odd Diag Cart Issue    |
|    12 Oct 08 14:12:46    |
From: sometomtom@tomtom.com              Anyone here know why a the TT030 diagnostic cart would refuse to boot up       when a 2MB ST RAM expansion board is plugged in?              I have a TT030 that I'm looking at. When I first was working on it the       machine would just turn on with a grey screen (no Atari logo and memtest       bootup). I eventually found that there was some corrosion built up on the       two FUNNEL chips in the machine. After that the machine would successfully       boot.              Then I tried using the diagnostic hardware to put the machine thru an       overnight test to test it. But I could never get the machine to boot up       with the diagnostic cart but it would boot up with the Terminal Emulator       cart. I had installed a TT RAM expansion board and a ST RAM expansion board       so that the testing would exercise the expansion slots. It wasn't until       yesterday that I discovered this weird issue with the expansion board.              I believe the machine was converted from a UK model (ROMs replaced with US       verison of TOS). I'm wondering if there is anything else that would've       needed replacement/upgrade when converting from a UK model to a US model?              Regards,       Glenn              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
