   That is wrong. Newdesk.inf is different from Teradesk.inf   
      
   Via newdesk.inf the ROM TOS starts Teradesk.   
   Teradesk saves its config in its own Teradesk.inf   
   So you must keep both.

   Because TOS still needs newdesk.inf to know it must load   
   Teradesk.

   No special mode needed.   
   I use Teradesk this way on my 520ST with TOS 1.4
