   ...and if you really must...   
      
   * Always ensure the animal is smaller than yourself   
   * Check animal for powerful hooves, teeth, claws, venom etc before getting   
   your apparatus out   
      
   Finally, make sure the animal is large enough that it won't split on the   
   first thrust.   
      
   It's at this point that sheep look promising...
