Ah! The very person/people/company I bought the drive from a few months ago
in the first place. I could not ask for better tech help, this is most
   excellent!

As for the flat cable thing, I am now using connectors before the twist if
that is what you are talking about effectively bypassing the twist. If push
comes to shove I have at least two more ribbon cables I can modify for this
with no twists at all in them. Other than that the strip is on the correct
side and I can see no other problems hooking it up except for the lack of
power to the drive. I think the power supply itself may be the problem
there but I will know when someone tells me for sure.

As for the disks, If I am correct earlier today you had a BUY It Now
listing on eBay for 10 720k 3.5" disk from 3M that was bought and paid for
within minutes of the listing ending. I was that person. I am going to use
those 10 to get started with the external drive and eventually purchase at
least 30-40 more to back everything up and get started switching everything
over to other storage mediums other than just the original 5.25".

What can you tell me about doing something like this? What tools and
materials do I need and where can I get them? Do you just sell a kit with
everything I need say maybe minus the tools?

Long term I will probably wind up converting the internal :1 to two 3.5"
drives. I may even make it a 4 3.5" drive system like that one but I do not
know what I need to do it.

   Thank you.
